  • 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
  • The Old Growler, 218 William Street, Woolloomooloo NSW

Hosted at The Old Growler (Canadian owned & operated), CACC is proud to present an exclusive evening with Sydney Swans CEO, Andrew Ireland and Premiership winning Canadian player Mike Pyke.

Join us for a CACC exclusive welcoming key members of the Sydney Swans. Canadian ex-pat & Sydney Swans Premiership winning player Mike Pyke will join Sydney Swans CEO Andrew Ireland for this informal discussion around business in sport.

This is an opportunity to listen to and ask questions of two of the most recognisable names in the AFL and Swans history.   Mike Pyke is a Canadian ex-pat who found his way onto the Sydney Swans roster after transitioning from Rugby Union.  Andrew Ireland is a former Collingwood player who turned into sports administrator in the early 80's and has led both the Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans to AFL Premierships under his leadership.

A rare opportunity to interact and ask questions of a Canadian ex-pat who has found success in his adopted homeland beside one of sports administrations most recognisable names.  Our Q&A includes the opportunity for our audience to ask questions.

Ticket includes wings and poutine and beverage on arrival (beer/wine/non-alcoholic drink). Spaces are limited, so to avoid disappointment book now here.

Andrew Ireland, CEO SYDNEY SWANS

Andrew Ireland’s contribution to the AFL began when he joined the Collingwood Football Club in 1974.  Retiring from football in 1980, Andrew commenced his career in football administration in Queensland and has become widely regarded as a pioneer of the game.  In 1990 Andrew was appointed as the Chief Executive of the Brisbane Bears. In 2001 Andrew led the Lions to their first Premiership victory.  Following the maiden victory, and after twelve years as Chief Executive, he stepped down and spent some time away from the game. In late 2002 Andrew began what was initially a consultative role with the Sydney Swans Football Club, prior to joining the club as the General Manager of Football.  During his time in this role the Swans won the 2005 AFL Premiership. In 2010 Andrew took the reigns at the Sydney Swans Football Club, becoming Chief Executive and in 2012 the Sydney Swans again won the AFL Premiership defeating Hawthorn. In 2015 Andrew was appointed to the Sydney Swans Board of Directors and became Chief Executive and Managing Director. Andrew is a life member of the AFL and the Brisbane Lions, and in 2001 he received the Australian Sports Medal for his contribution to Australian Football.

Mike Pyke, best known as a Sydney Swans, AFL premiership player and formerly a professional rugby player is now an investment banker with Moelis Australia.

In 2014 Mike received a Masters of Commerce(finance) from the University of Sydney and joined Moelis Australia subsequent from retiring from AFL. He competed in a Rugby World Cup for Canada in 2007 and in 2008 converted from rugby union to AFL. On a philanthropic note, Mike is a proud ambassador for FDN (a tertiary scholarship foundation) and was a lead ambassador for the Bingham Cup in 2014. His passions include: sport, cooking, travelling and spending time with his family.

We would like to give a big thank you to our supporter of this event - THE OLD GROWLER
