Reception and Dinner
Australia Day is the official national day of Australia, which commemorates Captain
Arthur Philip’s landing of the first fleet at Port Jackson on January 26th in 1788. Australia
Day is celebrated in all states and territories of Australia, and is to be celebrated here in
Toronto, on Tuesday, January 26th at The Albany Club.
The Albany Club is one of Canada’s oldest private clubs. Founded in 1882, and named
after the Duke of Albany, the club has occupied its current location on King Street East for more than 125 years, where Sir John A. Macdonald was a founding member.
The evening will begin at 6:30 with a reception on the Fourth Floor, for bubbly, beer and finger foods. At 7:30, we head down to the main dining room for dinner. The Club’s
Executive Chef Jay has prepared a special menu for the occasion. John Macdonald is
finalizing the wines to go with each course. As always, wines are included with dinner.

Char Grilled Barramundi with a Black Currant Risotto, A Saute of Field Mushrooms, finished with a Balsamic Reduction.
Rosemary Braised Australian Lamb Shanks in a Shiraz Reduction with Garlic Smashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables

There will be door prizes, with a very special prize of, two tickets to Australia, that will
be drawn right after dinner. We want to thank Pacesetter/ Goway Travel and Qantas, who
have provided the two return tickets to Sydney or Melbourne or Brisbane from Los
Angeles or San Francisco. Everyone registering will have a chance at this super prize.
The Albany Club is located at 91 King Street East, Toronto, 416-364-5471. Metered
parking is available and parking lots are adjacent to the Club. The King streetcar stops at the door, east of the Yonge Subway station.
Please note that we are limited to 120 seats for this event, so reserve early. Tickets are
$110.00 for AWS Members and Guests, CACC Members and Guests, including a draw
