CanAus Connections is based around the Chamber's networking and business matching capabilities, which assist business representatives engage with the right people in the business communities of both markets.

As part of CanAus Connections, the CACC has partnered with Air Canada to provide significant discounts on Air Canada's lowest advertised fares to travellers with a business program in either country. The service also includes agreements with the ACCOR group to provide discounted accommodation rates, and Europcar to provide a preferential car rental discount.

The partnership has been developed to encourage the establishment of face to face business relations between Canadian and Australian businesses, and support the chamber's mission to contribute to increasing the level of trade and investment between Australia and Canada.

Our goal is to bring the business communities of both countries closer," said Doug Carmichael, President of the CACC. "Australians and Canadians share a similar culture and outlook, and our economies complement each other well. This partnership is fantastic ways we can help businesses explore the numerous untapped opportunities available across the Pacific" Mr Carmichael said.

Trade between Australia and Canada is at an all time high, with investment also increasing. Canadian investment in Australia totals nearly $10 billion, and is the largest of any Asian economy, while Australian businesses in Canada are increasingly discovering unique benefits, including access to the entire North American market from a similarly structured economy.

Guests staying at ACCOR hotels receive discounted accommodation and also obtain a 15% discount on car rental with Europcar. ACCOR brands include the Sofitel, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure and Ibis, with locations across Australia and Canada.

The CACC is an excellent starting point for Australian businesses looking to export or expand operations to Canada and vice-versa into Australia.

Businesses with an interest in CanAus Connections should contact the CACC at cacc@cacc.org.au.
