Working Holiday Visa holders who secure work in certain high demand industries in northern Australia will now be eligible to remain with their employer for up to 12 months from November 21, 2015
Under the change, Working Holiday Visa holders who undertake work in northern Australia will be able to apply to work for a single employer for up to 12 months compared to the usual limit of 6 months.
The change applies to the Agriculture, Tourism & Hospitality, Aged & Disability Care, Construction, and Mining industries in northern Australia.

The High Commission of Canada in Australia is seeking a candidate to fill a six month contract in Education Marketing and Public Affairs (including media, public relations and information services).
The program is open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents under 30 years of age who have graduated from colleges and universities in Canada and Australia.
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 37 ½ hours per week.
Applicants must be able to work legally in Australia. We strongly encourage applicants on a working holiday visa to apply if they will have at least six months remaining on their visa as of START DATE. Applicants applying from Canada will be required to be eligible to apply for a working holiday visa.
Fluency in English is a requirement and knowledge of French, both oral and written, is an asset.

Worker rights
Australian employers must ensure that the Working Holiday participants they employ receive the same pay and conditions as Australian citizens and permanent residents. All workers in Australia including foreign workers are entitled to basic rights and protections in the work place.
